We do hope you can join us for our wedding day in Italy. We love the country and this particular area for it’s beauty, relaxation, culture, clear waters, mountain views and warmth. We feel we have found the perfect, magical place to get married and really hope you can come. Here is some info for you to check out.
Wedding day
Our wedding ceremony will take place at 5pm on Saturday 13 July 2019 at Malcesine Castle, followed by a reception in a gorgeous little restaurant right next door to the castle.
Malcesine is in the Province of Verona and on the northeastern lakeside of Lake Garda.
Places to stay
There is a lot of accommodation in Malcesine, the surrounding area and in the larger town of Garda just 30 minutes south. Some good choices are available through:

Travel & transport
Flying
The closest airport to Malcesine and Garda is Verona (sometimes referred to as Aeroporto Verona Catullo or Verona-Villafranca). There are regular flights from Birmingham, London Stansted, London Gatwick and Manchester.
Transfers & taxis
Some accommodation organise airport transfers for you, sometimes for free, particularly if you book direct with a hotel for example. A taxi ride from Verona airport to Garda can cost between 60-90 euros. Taxis between Malcesine and Garda cost around 30 euros and take roughly 30 minutes.
Bus
In July, there is a bus service (Line 164) from Verona airport to Malcesine, changing at Garda, for around 6 euros. Tickets need to be purchased from the ticket machine, which is located as soon as you come out into the arrivals terminal. Tickets are then validated when getting on the bus. Garda bus station is very small. The bus service is very straight-forward. The journey usually takes 1¼ hours to Garda and just over 2 hours to Malcesine. The scenery is lovely as you go along the lake and through the lake towns, so plenty to see on the way.
The bus journey between Malcesine and Garda is about 40 mins and costs 3-4 euros. Local bus times are available here:

Trains
The nearest train station is in Verona (Verona Porta Nuova) and there is also a small train station at Peschiera del Garda. Both have easy bus links to Garda. The bus station is right outside Verona train station. At Peschiera del Garda, the bus stop for Garda town is just opposite the train station.
Boat
Once you’re settled in your accommodation, wherever you are on the lake, travelling around by boat is highly recommended to see the lake, mountains and lake towns. The slow boat between Garda and Malcesine takes around 2 hours and costs 12 euros. There are many boats daily around the lake.
Eating & drinking
There are zillions of restaurants and cafes in Malcesine, Garda and the surrounding areas. Prices are very reasonable and similar everywhere eg coffees tend to be 1.50/2 euros and pizzas around 8 euros. Local wine and gelato is readily available everywhere. There are supermarkets in both Malcesine and Garda.

Tips
Malcesine is a pretty, old town with cobbled streets including cobbles in the castle and so, for the girls, flat shoes or block heels are highly recommended!
Dress for the weather! Even though the odd storm may occur (they pass quickly!) as it’s a mountainous region, it will be hot in July (anything up to 35 degrees!). Feel free to dress smart, but we would like you to be comfortable.

We understand it is a little further for some of you than a lot of weddings and hugely appreciate the effort involved to join us. For this reason, we decided not to have stag or hen parties. Just being there with us for our wedding day will be so special.
